The National Technical University of Athens, aiming to upgrade its already important contribution to education, research and the support of the country's development, has designed and implemented since September 1998, an Inter-departmental Program of Post-graduate Studies (IPPS) in Water Resources Science and Technology (WRST).
The IPPS operates under the administrative support of the School of the Civil Engineering of the NTUA, and in collaboration with the Schools of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Mining and Metallurgical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Physics.
The objective of IPPS:
✓ The postgraduate education and the advancement of knowledge in science and technology for the rational and environmentally sound development, management and protection of inland and coastal water resources and for the design and operation of related projects.
The scopes of the IPPS:
✓ To provide specialization to engineers and scientists on modern techniques and methods of an interdisciplinary nature for addressing problems of the water environment. The graduates should be able to work on multidimensional projects regarding sustainable management of water resources and to address effectively the increasing needs of the private and public sector and organizations in Greece and abroad.
✓ To provide in-depth training and research abilities to engineers and other scientists, with the objective to increase their abilities to create new knowledge on relevant scientific fields.
The program offers a full postgraduate education and awards M.Sc. Degrees in “Water Resources Science and Technology” in the following 4 streams:
✓ A: Hydrology and Environmental Water Resources Management
✓ B: Water Quality and Environmental Technology
✓ C: Coastal Zone Management
✓ D: Port Management
